Welcome to our Virtual Conference
Welcome physicians, technicians, and staff members to the Surgical Eye Care Foundation’s 16th Annual Continuing Education Conference. The Surgical Eye Care Foundation is very pleased that you have elected to participate in what this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, is a much different educational format than previous. This year, it is even more important than normal to recognize all of the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes by the many people working to make this conference happen. Pulling off an educational event this large is a difficult and time-consuming undertaking in any year, but even more so in one as unique as this one.
Despite those challenges we feel honored to still be able to bring to you a lineup of dynamic speakers covering a wide range of topics in eye care that we feel are especially relevant today. We hope that many speakers and even topics will be new to you while others we expect you will have heard from in the past. One thing the Surgical Eye Care Foundation strives for is to make each year’s conference better than the last, and we hope that in spite of the challenges this year has presented, that we have achieved that goal to the best of our ability and that you will still find this weekend just as enlightening, educational and fun as you have in past years, even though we are not able to meet in person.
Though we do hope for a return to more normal circumstances and in person education in the future, the Surgical Eye Care Foundation remains committed to participation in continuing optometric and ophthalmic education, as well as eye care research and charitable programs to serve our communities both at home and abroad.
So, let us begin our weekend “together” once again, and commit ourselves anew to advancing eye care in the communities which we serve.
